Jorge L. Freeland has practiced law since 1986 and has been recognized for years by Chambers and other legal publications as one of the premier M&A and private equity lawyers in Florida. He was the head of the White & Case LLP Miami domestic corporate department for 17.5 years and lead the department to an award winning position in the Southeast M&A legal market for a number of years. During such time, he represented a substantial number of the private equity sponsors in South Florida at one time or another as well as numerous corporations, family offices and individuals buying and selling businesses or seeking capital. His practice focuses on complex transactions that are often highly leveraged with multiple sources of debt and equity capital. Listed by Best Lawyers as Private Equity Lawyer of the Year for 2011, “Super Lawyer” by Superlawyer.com, and among America’s Best Lawyers by Best Lawyers for a number of years, Mr. Freeland believes he is one of the most active M&A lawyers in the Southeast.

Prior to starting the domestic corporate group at White & Case in Miami, Mr. Freeland was a partner in the corporate department of Greenburg Traurig. There, he was involved in numerous public offerings of debt and equity securities as well as various stages of venture financings and M&A. He led teams of lawyers on multiple assignments for active clients.

Mr. Freeland earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Michigan and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
